Yay!!
Cliqpreneur is finally in the Google index. That excitement is tempered by the fact that the only page indexed is the admin login page, but that is progress.
I can’t tell you exactly which of the items below got the blog indexed, but here’s what I’ve done:
- Posted regularly. I am not an uber poster and I’ve been busy educating myself, fixing hacker attacks, etc. On the other hand, I try to post on a regular basis when I have something to say
- Set up Google Analytics. This sends traffic activity back to Google which I’m sure helps. It’s been fun to watch too. For example, you can see visitors by geography which in my case includes Belgium and Malaysia. One of the visits may have been the hacker, but it is interesting nonetheless.
- Set up Google webmaster tools. This will give various diagnostics, analysis, etc. about how Google and the internet see and interact with your site. Since the last time I checked, another page has been added to the index. I need to learn bit more about the process as the sites listed are relative to blog admin and not content
- Applied to Google AdSense. While I did get denied initially, I did see that the Google bots had visited shortly after the application. I will reapply in the next day or so and see how that goes.
You can see I’ve been making use of Google’s own tools and processes to get those bots onto my site. Again, I can’t tell you the relative effectiveness of each technique, but it appears to be working.
Stay tuned.
